Salvation

In your personal opinion, what do you understand it takes for a person to go to heaven? That can be a very thought provoking question for most people. Would you consider how the Bible answers this question? It is a matter of FAITH.

F is for FORGIVENESS

We can't have eternal life and heaven without God's forgiveness. The Bible puts it this way: "In Him (meaning Jesus) we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins" (Ephesians 1:7).

A is for AVAILABLE

Forgiveness is available. It is -

hAvailable for All. "For God so loved the world that He gave His one and on Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life" John 3:16).

h But Not Automatic. "Not everyone w says to Me, 'Lord, Lord, will enter the kingdom of heaven" (Matthew 7:21).

I is for IMPOSSIBLE

It's impossible for God to allow sin into heaven.

h Because of who He is: God is loving and just. His judgment is against sin.

"Judgment without mercy will be shown" (James 3:13).

h Because of who we are: Every person is a sinner, i.e., "nobody's perfect." "For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God" (Romans 3:23).

But how can a sinful person enter heaven, when God allows no sin?

T is for TURN

Turn means repent.

h Turn from something - sin and self.

"But unless your repent, you too will all perish" (Luke 13:3).

h Turn to Someone; trust Christ only. "If you confess with your mouth, 'Jesus is Lord', and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead; you will be saved" (Romans 1:10:9).

H is for HEAVEN

Heaven is eternal life with Jesus Christ.

h Here... "l have come that they may have life, and have it to the full" (John 10:10).

h Hereafter… "And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with Me that you also may be where lam" (.John 14:3).

How can a person have God's forgiveness, heaven and eternal life, and Jesus as personal Savior and Lord (Lord means "the one in charge or control")?

By trusting in Christ and asking Him for forgiveness. Take the step of faith described by another meaning of FAITH: Forsaking All I Trust Him.

A good way to do this is to talk to God personally (He is listening) and say something along these lines: "dear God, I know that Jesus is Your Son, and that He died on the cross and was raised from the dead. I know I have sinned and need forgiveness. I am willing, with Your help, to turn from my sins and receive Jesus as my Savior and Lord. Thank You for saving me. In Jesus' name, Amen."

Call on the Lord in repentance, faith, and surrender, using these or similar words of your own; and Jesus will become your Savior and Lord.

After you have done this, tell someone about the important decision you have made. Grow in your faith and enjoy new friends in Christ by becoming part of His church and attending Bible study and Worship at a Bible believing church where you life.
